Message from the CEO

Founded in 1936, Ecole d’Assas has a long history of training physiotherapists and podiatrists. Its founder, Blanche Bruneaux, and the directors who followed in her footsteps have always been devoted to guiding students to success in their studies and making them respected healthcare professionals. Originally based at 28 rue d’Assas (hence the name), Ecole d’Assas is now in the heart of the 15th arrondissement in Paris.

Driven by this culture for excellence, the 170-strong teaching staff at Ecole d’Assas focuses specifically at making innovation and personal support integral to the courses provided every year to the 176 students attending our centres. Each training centre is managed by a director with a background in healthcare.

We hope that everyone can fulfil their potential with a course at Ecole d’Assas. The general set-up and training site have been designed with this in mind:

    • Highly experienced heads of year with teaching qualifications coordinate all the courses provided at the training centres. Teachers are hired for their experience, ability to transfer knowledge, are physicians in different specialities, working podiatrists and physiotherapists all respected in their area.
    • The podiatry treatment clinic enables students to work in a real professional setting. Supported by clinical training consultants, they treat patients of all ages (children and adults) with a range of ailments in all areas of podiatry.
    • Physiotherapy students have the option to study on an apprenticeship (CFA – apprenticeship training contract): they are employed by a clinic, join a treatment team and begin their career before they graduate!
    • The new Occupational Therapy centre will train practicioners able to help people to live their lives as healthly and active as possible no matter their disabilities or risk factors.

The college also provides international opportunities by giving teachers and students the chance to work overseas.

A branch of IFMK Paris opened in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in September 2014: IFMK ASSAS SQY. The centre accommodates 30 students a year, 20 of whom have taken the PACES at the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ).

The Occupational Therapy centre opening in September 2018 is the logical extension of 80 years of experience in the training of health professionnals.

With Assas Prépa Kiné (IFMK exam preparation), Assas Prépa Podo (IFPP exam preparation) and Assas Formation Continue (lifelong training for qualified health professionals), the college has proven its vision to support future students and graduates throughout their professional career.

When you choose Ecole d’Assas, you’ll join a big family of health professionals that’s constantly progressing: welcome!
