About the College
Ecole d’Assas was founded in 1936 as a private further education establishment training physiotherapists and podiatrists. Given the standard of the paramedical courses, the college is monitored by the Ministry for Health on behalf of the State. Ecole d’Assas is approved by the Ile-de-France Regional Council.
Ecole d’Assas has two separate training centres:
- a Physiotherapy Training Centre (IFMK) in Paris (86 places) and one in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (30 places). The Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines centre opened in September 2014. Training provided in both centres is identical.
- a Podiatry Training Centre (IFPP) in Paris (60 places).
- an Occupational Therapy Center (IFE) in Magny-les-Hameaux (30 places). The centre will open in September 2018.
For physiotherapy, students are admitted after an exam (final exam in 2016) or a PACES (foundation year in health studies). Other admission methods are detailed by the decree dated September 2nd 2015.
For podiatry and Occupational Therapy, students are admitted after an exam or a PACES (foundation year in health studies) from the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
Four years of training are required to work as a physiotherapist or three years to work as a podiatrist or an occupationa therapist. The state qualification is provided by the Ministry for Health.
Ecole d’Assas demands the best in training standards and supports each and every student from preparing for their entrance exams to attending the college and throughout their professional career.
